We got some beautiful kale in our CSA bag this week. It is so beautiful! We've had kale in the past and haven't found a really great recipe for it yet. It does go well with potatoes. Anyway, I threw this kale into a smoothie. It took a little more fruit than I usually put in spinach smoothies and it still had a faint kale flavor, but I rather liked it.
How about this recipe from a cookbook called "Clean Food" by Terry Walters.
ReplyDeleteGinger Sesame Greens
2 bunches of greens
1 T olive oil
1 T grated fresh ginger
1 T mirin
1 T tamari
1 T toasted sesame oil
Toasted sesame seeds and sea salt or gomasio
Remove dry stalks from greens and chop leaves into bit size pieces. Saute with medium heat the ginger in olive oil, mirin and tamari for 1 minute. Then add greens and increase heat to medium high, adding water as needed to prevent sticking. Cover and cook 3 to 5 minutes until greens are tender. Remove cover, toss greens to ensure even cooking and saute 2 to 3 minutes more. Turn off heat, drain excess cooking liquid and toss with toasted sesame oil. Sprinkle with gomasio or toasted sesame seeds and salt. Serve.
